As a devoted parent, Gary’s adult years were spent as a stay-at-home dad, nurturing and coaching his three children through the ever-changing seasons of life. Amidst the hustle and bustle of family life, he pursued higher education, earning a PhD in Education from the University of Calgary. Simultaneously, he took on the role of head coach at a local water polo club, channeling his passion for sports into the development of young athletes.

In recent years, Gary has redirected his boundless commitment towards seniors, particularly men living with dementia. For the past six years, he has forged deep connections with senior gentlemen and their families, offering respite and support to spouses and children. Gary’s approach is a testament to his belief that regardless of life’s circumstances, there exists a pinnacle of quality living waiting to be discovered. He engages these gentlemen in a high-quality life experience, infused with exercise, nature, and the soothing power of music.

Beyond his role in senior care, Gary has served as a teacher, coach, and mentor to undergraduates at the University of Calgary, as well as countless young, emerging water polo coaches. His dedication goes beyond caregiving; it extends to mentoring and shaping the next generation.
