Genacare staff, especially Gary and Toni, are excellent at assessing care needs and developing customized care routines, with lots of time outdoors, in nature, playing games, personal care, pet care, errands, and mentoring the family on dementia care techniques. They're always calm, helpful and sincerely love what they do! As mum says when they arrive "thank God you're here!"Posted on The BandysTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have been using GenaCare to provide a companion for my wife. The companion is a wonderful lady. She takes my wife to various places once a week, while I also have a chance to do things on my own. The principal Toni is always accessible and has been very helpful. I would have no problem in recommending GenaCare to provide respite care servicesPosted on SG Calgary Ltd.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The staff at GenaCare were simply amazing when it came to pairing my FIL who has dementia with caregivers who were compassionate, fun and great companions for him. They constantly found amazing activities to keep him occupied and engaged. They would happily sit for hours listening to his stories (that by this time made no sense) but gave him an outlet so my MIL could have a much needed break!Posted on Robyn KaserTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. GenaCare provided amazing support in accompanying my mother for an out of province knee replacement. Their professionalism was evident throughout the entire process, but what sets them apart is their empathy and caring approach. They treated my mother with respect, humour and understanding which resulted in a highly personal experience. I highly recommend them.Posted on M TTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I reached out to Genacare when my 96 year old friend started deteriorating last fall. I was having to be with her daily and found that I was not coping with the mood swings that come with dementia. Toni met with us and started being there most days. Toni quickly learned techniques that worked and became a good companion. I felt relieved to share the burden and so glad I found her. If you’re looking for help for any condition or circumstance, I highly recommend Gary and Toni.Posted on Carol PatmoreTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My personal involvement with Genacare Family Support was when my husband was diagnosed with dementia . When I realized that I could no longer properly care for my husband , I was fortunate enough to find Gary , he became my husband’s personal care giver, and trusted friend . Gary was amazing on taking him on daily walks, nature walks, picnic lunches, reading to him when he could no longer read himself, whatever was required, Gary did diligently . Because of Gary, my husband lived with his dementia to the fullest , and, it allowed me to continue living , and consequently enjoying my husband , as a couple , as much as possible. I would recommend Gary and Genacare Family Support , 110% , to families searching for the best care for their loved ones .Posted on R&V GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have had the great pleasure of having Genacare come into our home and supporting my family. Gary has made a very genuine connection with my husband, who needs care, and it is amazing to see him out and active and sharing Gary's love of nature. Just as importantly, as the primary caregiver for my husband, I am getting the time I need on my own and with friends knowing that my husband is having a great life experience. The peace of mind is so valuable! I wish we had started this relationship much much earlier. My husband has a buddy and the relationship is honest and real ... a very refreshing business model and culture in this field.Posted on Earl JonesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Are you looking for someone to care for your loved one? Gary will do that and will probably do that better than you can ! He has the patience, the training, the compassion, the empathy and the understanding necessary to make your loved one feel good. I have known Gary for the past seven years while he cared for a senior with dementia. He will walk with them, he will talk with them, he will sing with them, he will take them to medical appointments, he will do what ever is necessary. He will be there for your loved one in times of crisis as well as in time of quiet reflection.
